THIRD MAFA-CUP DELIGHTS WITH SPORTS, EXCITEMENT AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT

Wasseralfingen. Great interest, exciting competitions, and strong social commitment characterized the third MAFA-Cup, which took place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Erzstollen in Wasseralfingen and was organized by Viktoria Wasseralfingen together with Maschinenfabrik Alfing Kessler (“MAFA”). In perfect weather conditions, numerous visitors flocked to the venue and created an excellent atmosphere around the tournament grounds throughout the entire day.
A special highlight was the official opening ceremony, conducted by District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse together with former German national football player Andreas Beck. Both praised the organizers’ great voluntary commitment and emphasized the importance of the tournament for social cohesion within the region.
Andreas Beck was also a highly popular guest away from the pitch: photos and autographs were in great demand among visitors of all ages. The former national player took time for every fan and brought many smiling faces throughout the event. In addition, Member of the German Bundestag Roderich Kiesewetter also attended the MAFA-Cup personally and took the opportunity to speak with participants and guests.
From a sporting perspective, the day began in the morning with an internal penalty shootout tournament featuring 26 teams from various departments of Maschinenfabrik Alfing Kessler. In the afternoon, the charity company penalty tournament followed, with 20 teams from regional businesses competing. Besides sporting ambition, the main focus was on supporting a good cause and strengthening community spirit.
While goals were being scored on the pitch, the youngest visitors also had plenty to enjoy. The children’s activity area remained busy throughout the day and offered lots of entertainment and fun through numerous interactive activities. Catering was provided by FV Viktoria Wasseralfingen, treating participants and visitors to delicious grilled food, freshly baked waffles, and fries for the younger guests.
At the end of the tournament day, the winners were also announced: FC Wartungsfrei claimed victory in the internal tournament, while Hausmeisterservice Buduri secured first place among the external teams. Additional excitement was created through the auction of a VfB Stuttgart jersey and a VfB T-shirt, both signed by Andreas Beck, with the proceeds also benefiting the charitable cause.
Thanks to entry fees, donations, and the auction, a considerable amount of money was raised once again this year. In 2026, the donations will go to the football club Viktoria Wasseralfingen to support inclusion training programs and a kindergarten cup tournament.
The third MAFA-Cup once again impressively demonstrated how sport, entertainment, and social commitment can be successfully combined – much to the delight of all participants and visitors. The great response encourages the organizers to continue this success story: planning for the fourth MAFA-Cup in 2027 is already underway.
